BJP likely to field Pawan Kalyan as NDA’s Chief Ministerial candidate in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh BJP chief Somu Veerraju has said that BJP is planning to make Pawan Kalyan the NDA’s chief ministerial candidate after two weeks the actor turned politicial Pawan Kalyan threatened to call off the collision with BJP.

This has made the Jana Sena workers happy who were upset after the party did not field any candidate for the Tirupati Lok Sabha byelection and chose to help the BJP from that point.

The state will go under polls in 2024 and is currently ruled by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. As per what is planned the state may have triangular elections between Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP, NDA and Chandrababy Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party.

Pawan Kalyan is also the choice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, said Somu Veerraju while addressing a coordination committee meeting of the BJP and JSP. PM Modi is very fond of Mr Kalyan and has repeatedly said that BJP members should respect Kalyan, he added

Agreeing with Veerraju’s statement Jana Sena’s Political Affairs Committee chairman Nadendla Manohar said, leaders like Pawan Kalyan are very much essential for the state.

After addressing the meeting and releasing insurance bonds to the committed party workers Nadendla said, there is a need of dedicated and honest leaders in Andhra Pradesh and Pawan Kalyan is that candidate, he said.

Earlier, Pawan Kalyan had said that he will begin growing the party’s base in Telangana also. He said that however he had planned to focus mainly on Andhra Pradesh in the starting but has now decided to focus equally on Telangana also because of the persistent demands made by party workers.
