Officials Who Attended Amit Shah’s Review Meet On Security Situation In Manipur Meet CM N Biren Singh

Top officials who attended the meeting, which was chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah two days ago without Chief Minister N. Biren Singh present, met Mr. Singh in Imphal and briefed him on the steps being taken to bring peace back to the conflict-torn State.

Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi, Security Adviser Kuldiep Singh, and Director General of Police Rajiv Singh “called on me at my office to brief me on the security and administrative measures being implemented to restore peace in Manipur,” Mr. Singh wrote on X upon his arrival from Delhi.

He went on to say that “the Central government has started laying out plans to initiate dialogue with all stakeholders” under the direction of Mr. Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Since May 3, 2023, ethnic warfare between the Kuki-Zo and Meitei tribes has plagued Manipur.

Mr. Singh mentioned chairing an all-party meeting in another article.

“Had a productive conversation to guarantee the state’s security, law, and order situation is strengthened. In order to achieve long-term peace and prosperity in Manipur, all stakeholders must work together, he said.

Without the Chief Minister present, Mr. Shah presided over a high-level meeting on Monday to discuss the “way forward” and the “current status” of the ethnic strife in Manipur. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) president, Mohan Bhagwat, appealed for peace in conflict-ridden Manipur on June 10 and added, “The State had been peaceful for 10 years.” This prompted the gathering. It had seemed as though gun culture was over. But who is considering putting out the flames that have suddenly flared up? The pursuit of peace must be prioritised.
