Tamil Nadu has been continuously suffering due to the heavy rainfalls from last couple of days and there seems no relief for a few days more as the Indian Meterological Department has forecasted rainfall for some days more.
Despite there has been reduction in the rainfall level in Chennai and nearby districts like Chengalpet. Water is yet to recede from the parts of Chennai.
Amid this disaster, the state government has announced two days of holiday for schools on November 10 and 11 in the state capital and eight other districts. So far, five people have lost their lives in the rain related incidents and 270 huts and 70 houses have been destroyed.
