Denying claims that WFI ex-chairman Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s alleged sexual harassment of female wrestlers went unpunished because he is a BJP MP, minister of sports and youth affairs Anurag Thakur stated on Friday that the Centre supported a speedy resolution of the conflict.
“But the due process of law must be followed. All of us are in favour of a speedy investigation. We expect the chargesheet to be filed soon. And there is no element of bias in the process,” he said.
“Whether it is a sportsperson or any woman, the government wants justice delivered. At every step, it has listened to and conceded every demand of the sportspersons,” Thakur, who was addressing a conclave, said.
