Polling for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh assembly seats was finally concluded on 17 November. Total 230 constituencies in MP and 70 out of 90 constituencies were voted on Friday.
In Chhatisgarh the voting tool place till 5 pm while, in MP it went till 6 pm.
Polling in Madhya Pradesh took place in just one phase but in Chhattisgarh it took place in two phases – first on November 7 and second on Friday. Total 958 candidates including Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Deputy Chief Minister T S Singh Deo, four members from Parliament and eight state ministers are competing the battle for 70 seats.
Meanwhile, in MP a total of 2,533 candidates are competing the battle of old tradition between Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress. As many as 5,60,60,925 voters were eligible to cast their votes in the state.
Counting of votes for all five poll bound states – Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rajasthan and Mizoram will take place on 3 December.
The voter turnout in Madhya Pradesh was recorded at 71.64% by 7.30 pm while, in Chhattisgarh it was recorded at 68.15%.
