Mastermind of 3 Major Attacks in India, Lashkar Terrorist Eliminated in Pakistan

Saifullah Khalid, a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) member who is suspected of planning multiple high-profile terror operations in India, was slain in Pakistan’s Sindh region on Sunday, according to sources. Some unidentified attackers attacked him at Matli city, Badin district, Shind.

Sources claim that the group had strictly instructed Abu Saifullah to restrict his movements. Security had also been given to him. However, he was shot and killed at a nearby intersection earlier today as he left his home in the city of Matli.

Khalid was a principal conspirator in three major attacks: the 2008 CRPF camp assault in Rampur, the 2006 attack on the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, and the 2005 Indian Science Congress (ISC) attack in Bangalore. These three-year-long strikes resulted in multiple fatalities and signalled a significant expansion of LeT’s activities within India. For a number of years, Khalid was based in Nepal, where he lived under a false identity and wed Nagma Banu, a native, while operating under the alias “Vinode Kumar.”

He is thought to have organised LeT operations from Nepal, keeping a low profile while being essential in recruiting and logistics. Khalid moved his base to Matli, which is located in Pakistan’s Sindh province’s Badin district, more recently. He continued to work there for Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistani terrorist outfit that the UN has banned, and its front group, Jamaat-ud-Dawa, where he was mainly responsible for recruiting and raising money for terror operations.

‘Operations Commander’ Shahid Kuttay was among three other Lashkar terrorists who were slain last week after a clash with security forces in the Shopian area of south Kashmir.

Kuttay and the other two were killed in the Shukroo Keller area. They were Adnan Shafi, who lived in the Vanduna Melhura neighbourhood of Shopian, and Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh, who lived in the Murran neighbourhood of the nearby Pulwama district. They were found to be in possession of two AK series rifles, a significant amount of ammunition, grenades, and other warlike supplies. According to a news outlet, Kuttay, the LeT’s operations commander in south Kashmir, encouraged the recruitment of terrorists in the region, deceived numerous young men, and murdered numerous innocent people.
