Referring to a rape accused who was seen giving massages to AAP Minister Satyendra Jain in viral video from Tihar jail, BJP has alleged that the man is not any pysiotherapist but a rapist.
The man seen giving massage in the video is named as Rinku, who was charged under section 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, said BJP Spokesman Shehzad Poonawala.
“Rape accused Rinku was giving massage to Satyendar Jain. Rinku Accused under Pocso and IPC 376. So it was not a physiotherapist but a rapist who was giving maalish (massage) to Satyendar Jain! Shocking. Kejriwal must answer why he defended this and insulted physiotherapists,” said Poonawala in a tweet.
Targeting AAP, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar also alleged the Delhi ruling party in a tweet saying, “AAP is “redefining” politics – Pocso booked physios, Money laundering Ministers, Liquor lobby captured governance… Certainly come a long way from associatng with India against Corruption and fooling a lot of people.”
As per the Delhi Police, Rinku was arrested in 2021 after his minor daughter accused him raping her. He is currently serving his sentence in Tihar jail.
Meanwhile, the opposition parties – BJP and Congress have requested for sacking of Mr Jain for violating jail rules.
The Enforcement Directorate which is investigating the money laundering case under which Mr Jain is charged has earlier stated during a bail hearing that the minister was getting special treatment inside the jail.
In his defence, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has alleged BJP of leaking CCTV footage of Mr Jain’s cell and clarified that ge was in need of physiotherapy because of an injury in spinal.
“Only the BJP can make cruel jokes by leaking CCTV footage of an injured person’s treatment… His (Satyendar Jain’s) spine was damaged, it’s on record,” said Sisodia addressing at a press briefing on Saturday.physiotherapy
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal also said defending Mr Jain that he has been alleged of getting full-body massage and VIP treatment, while in actuality it was only a physiotherapy.
