Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, his administration will outlaw the sale of alcoholic beverages in 17 of the state’s houses of worship. On Thursday, January 23, 2025, the Chief Minister made the news during an event in the Narsinghpur district.
“Everyone is aware of the ill effects of liquor consumption. We don’t want our youths to get spoiled, as they are the future of the country. The Madhya Pradesh government will ban the sale of liquor at 17 religious places,” CM Yadav said. “Liquor will be banned wherever Lord Krishna and Lord Ram have set their foot in Madhya Pradesh,” he said.
The Chief Minister had declared last year that the State government would create pilgrimage sites for locations connected to Lord Ram and Lord Krishna.
