M Modi Slams Party MPs For Their Repeating Absenteeism In Parliamentary Meetings

Angry with the stubborn delinquency among BJP MPs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dropped a harsh clue that participation in Parliament could be incorporated among the models for the dissemination of party tickets.

“I have consistently told you to be regular in Parliament. I should not be saying this repeatedly since you are not like chiildren. It will be better that you change yourself, or changes will happen in due course,” said PM Modi in the first weekly meeting of the Parliamentary party in the Winter Session.
As per sources, PM Modi has been upset over the repeatedly absenteeism due to which the proceedings had to be adjourned many times.

The Prime Minister said that he does not want to remind the MPs about their duties ans responsibilities again and again rather they should be sincere about it. The current session has seen the most poorest attendances of the MPs mainly in Rajya Sabha.

The prompt trigger for the PM’s warning was parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi’s comments weeping over the shortfall of BJP MPs, sources said.

During the debate on Covid-19 situation in the country, which happened in a structured manner for the first time, the attendance in the LoK Sabha again went short due to which one of the sittings was delayed.

Sharing the information on the parliamentary party meeting, which for the first time held outside Parliament complex at the Ambedkar International Center, Joshi said that PM Modi told party MPs that every one of them ought to organise sports competitions in their own constituencies.

While the Party Chief JP Nadda asked party MPs to invite district presidents and presidents of mandals of their own constituencies for tea and to interact with them and similarly the Prime Minister will also invite the district presidents from his constituency on December 14.
