Low Pressure Area Likely To Be Formed Over Bay Of Bengal Tomorrow: IMD

Around November 14, a low-pressure region is expected to form over the Southeast Bay of Bengal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Around November 16, the IMD said in a statement, it is expected to shift west-northwestward and strengthen into a depression over Central and the nearby South Bay of Bengal.

Sanjeev Dwivedi, a scientist at the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, discussed the emergence of the low-pressure area by saying, “A cyclonic circulation lies over the Gulf of Thailand and extends upto mid-tropospheric levels tilting southwestwards with height.” On November 13, it is most likely to exit into the Andaman Sea. Around November 14, a low-pressure region is anticipated to develop over Southeast Bay of Bengal as a result of its effect.”

According to Mr. Dwivedi, the districts of Odisha have been experiencing dry weather for the past few days.

“In one or two locations throughout the South Interior Odisha districts, there was a noticeable drop in the minimum temperature, but there was little change throughout the other Odisha districts. They were, in some locations, below normal, in some places noticeably above normal, above normal over the Interior Odisha districts, and average in other locations over the Odisha districts, the speaker stated.

According to the IMD, Phulbani in the Odisha plains recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius and Paralekhemundi the highest maximum temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius.
