The seat-sharing deal between the India bloc partners, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections was finally done on Saturday, said the sources.
Congress will have three constituencies to fight while AAP will be fielding candidates in four constituencies. Both the parties will soon announce the seat distribution separately.
New Delhi, East Delhi, South Delhi and West Delhi will have candidates from the Aam Aadmi Party while, North East Delhi, North West Delhi and Chandni Chowk will have candidates from Congress.
Earlier, the Congress had got just one seat to fight that brought the discussions into a deadlock.
In the last two Lok Sabha elections of 2014 and 2019, BJP had won on all the seven seats in the national capital with a vote share of more than 50%.
The Delhi Congress President Arvinder Singh Lovely on Friday said that the AAP and Congress are the two strong parties in the opposition alliance adding “the India bloc will contest the Lok Sabha elections strongly not only in Delhi, but the whole country”.
Meanwhile, the Congress is also expected to give two seats To AAP Gujarat and one in Haryana. The two seats in Gujarat include Bhavnagar and Bharuch while, in Haryana it is either Faridabad Or Gurugram.
