Leaders From Bihar Grand Alliance To Meet Sonia Gandhi, Crucial Meeting Ahead 2024 Elections

Two senior leaders Nitish Kumar and RJD’s Lalu Yadav of the newly formed Grand Alliance in Bihar will meet Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi on Sunday in Delhi, said sources.

In six months, it will their first meeting. Earlier, the two top leaders were hoping to meet Rahul Gandhi during the meet but as he is on Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, he will not be present.

Earlier in the month during his last visit to Delhi, Bihar Chief Minister had met Mr Gandhi but couldn’t meet Mrs Gandhi as she was abroad for some medical reasons.

While, RJD leader Lalu Yadav, who is out on bail in connection with many fodder scams, will go to Singapore in few weeks for his kidney transplant.

According to the sources, the leaders are likely to discuss some crucial issues and will also be taking the Grand Alliance to the national level.

That chance is being look into by the leaders in Bihar, particularly with Mr Kumar chipping away at sewing the opposition into a strong front against the BJP ahead the 2024 Loksabha elections.

The meeting is comind amid the Congress preparing for party presidential elections on October 17. The party has already started the nomination process on Thursday.

Earlier, the fight was likely between senior leader Shashi Tharoor and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, but now the fight is expected to become multifaceted as more leaders are joining including Digvijaya Singh and Manish Tiwari.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, during his last visit to Delhi had also met with some opposition leaders including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Samajaadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav, Nationalist Congress Chief Sharad Pawar and other Left leaders.
