Number Of Returning Kashmiri Migrants Increasing Since Revocation Of Article 370, Says Govt

The government on Wednesday told in Parliament that around 3,800 people have returned to Kashmir since 1990s and about 520 after the revocation of article 370 to get the jobs under the schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The article provided a special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

It is expected that this year around 2,000 will migrate to Kashmir. This information came after to a question which asked about the Kashmiri Pandits.

In its written response, the MoS Home G Kishan Reddy said, since 1990, total 44,167 Kashmiri migrants migrated from the Valley due to safety concerns. Out of these 44,167, about 39,782 registered families were of Hindu migrants. To support the restoration of the Kashmir migrants in the Valley, the government has announces several schemes and incentives to help such migrant families, said Reddy.
