A lower court’s judgement forcing Twitter to block Congress’s account was suspended on Monday by the Karnataka High Court.
A Bengaluru court had ordered Twitter to temporarily restrict the handles of the Congress and its Bharat Jodo Yatra campaign the day before for allegedly violating copyright guidelines.
But the Bengaluru court’s order was suspended by the Karnatha High Court. The Congress must remove all copyrighted content from their official social media sites, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, by tomorrow in order for the HC’s decision to go into effect.
The Congress is being accused of using songs from the hugely successful film KGF 2 in one of the videos for the Bharat Jodo Yatra featuring Rahul Gandhi, according to a complaint made by MRT Music, a music label with its headquarters in Bengaluru.
