Actor Shefali Jariwala, best known for her hit appearance in the early 2000s music video Kaanta Laga and later as a contestant on Bigg Boss 13, has passed away at the age of 42. Reports say she suffered a cardiac arrest late Friday night. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, rushed her to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. After that, her body was taken to Cooper Hospital around 12:30 a.m. for a postmortem.
An official from Cooper Hospital said her body was brought in from another hospital, and the exact cause of her death will only be confirmed after the postmortem is done.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police reached Shefali’s home in Andheri late at night to start an investigation. A forensic team was also present and carried out a detailed search of the house. While no formal statement has been issued yet, the involvement of police and forensics suggests that there may be some uncertainty or suspicion surrounding her death.
According to Mumbai Police: “Her body was found at her Andheri residence. We were informed around 1 a.m., and the body has now been sent to Cooper Hospital. The cause of death is still not confirmed.”
Shefali became a familiar face in 2002 after the massive success of Kaanta Laga. She later appeared in Salman Khan’s Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, starred in the web series Baby Come Naa in 2019, and also took part in dance shows like Boogie Woogie and Nach Baliye.
