Ira Khan, the daughter of Aamir Khan, posted photos and videos of her and Nupur Shikhare’s wedding celebrations to her Instagram stories. Actor Mithila Palkar, who is friends with both Ira and Nupur, shared photos of the engaged couple on social media along with the caption, “Let’s get you guys married.” The words “The wedding festivities have begun” appeared in another caption for the images. In November of last year, Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare threw a lavish engagement celebration that was well-attended by their close friends and relatives. September of last year marked the couple’s engagement.
The soon-to-be bride looked lovely in a red saree for the wedding festivities, while Nupur chose to wear a vibrant kurta with a golden jacket and black pyjamas.
Nupur Shikhare and Ira Khan got engaged in September last year. The proposal was anything but conventional. Ira posted a video from Ironman Italy, where Nupur participated. “Popeye: She said yes. Ira: Hehe I said yes,” she captioned the post.
Professionally speaking, Ira directed her first play, a theatrical version of Euripides’ Medea, starring Hazel Keech in the lead role. In December 2019, it made its debut in several Indian cities. While her brother Junaid frequently helps father Aamir Khan with his films and is set to make his acting debut in a Netflix movie, Ira has studied music.
The youngest of Aamir Khan’s two children from his previous marriage to Reena Dutta is named Ira. After 15 years of marriage to filmmaker Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan filed for divorce in July 2021. Azad is still co-parented by them.
