Internet Services To Partially Resume In Punjab, Search Operation Against Amritpal Enters 4th Day

Punjab’s internet services, which were suspended after the Punjab Police began a massive search for Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, are expected to partly resume soon. However, some areas in Punjab will still have limited internet access, according to sources.

Amritpal Singh is still on the run as the massive crackdown by the Punjab Police against the Waris Punjab De leader has entered its fourth day. This morning, a plane carried his uncle and two other assistants to Assam. His other four detained accomplices were also transported to the Dibrugarh Central jail on Sunday.

The Bhagwant Mann administration was attacked by the Punjab and Haryana court for its total lack of intelligence. What are the 80,000 police doing, it questioned?

Invoking the strict National Security Act against five men connected to radical preacher Amritpal Singh, whose uncle and chauffeur turned themselves in as part of a statewide crackdown against his “Waris Punjab De” organization, the Punjab Police flagged a potential “ISI angle” on Monday.

Four of the group’s arrested members were taken to Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam on Sunday. Punjab Police have now arrived at the prison where pro-Khalistani leader Harjeet Singh is being held to question Singh’s bodyguards.

Kulwant Singh and Gur Aujla, two more of Amritpal Singh’s assistants, have been charged with NSA.

Amritpal Singh, who is on the run, his uncle Harjeet Singh, and his driver Harpreet Singh have all been named in a fresh FIR.

They were accused of holding a family hostage for a day while holding them at gunpoint under fear in the Udhowal village of Jalandhar. The family was also requested to keep their location a secret.

“Police are acting legally. Although there are allegations, Amritpal Singh, the main suspect, has not yet been taken into custody. We’ll let you know as soon as the capture is made, said Punjab IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill.
