India’s Omircon Tally Reaches 900 Mark, Delhi’s Positivity Rate Rises

India’s omicron tally has touch 900 mark on Wednesday as both Delhi and Maharashtra have registered highest number of cases in months yesterday reporting at 923 and 3.900 Covid-19 cases respectively. Maharashtra’s Covid tally includes 85 omicron cases.

Alongside India, US is also encountering heavy surges in its Covid tally, following which the World Health Organization (WHO) expressed worries over the merger of Delta and Omicron variant producing a “tsunami” of Covid cases. But he still expressed his hopes that the world will anyhow overcome this pandemic in 2022.

In a bid curb the spread of Covid-19, the Chennai Police will deploy over 10,000 police personnel to check no vehicle is allowed to ply on the city roads between 12 am and 5 am on January 1. However, those who are out to buy essential items will be exempted.

Meanwhile, Delhi will also tighten ita rules on Covid-19 as the positivity rate in the city has increased to 1.29% from 0.19% on December 23.
