In the early hours of Monday, the Army successfully thwarted an attempt to cross the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir.
Security forces in the area engaged two terrorists, who were shot dead in the ensuing gunfight. The operation is still in progress, thus no bodies have yet been found.
The Indian Army killed a terrorist in the Tangdhar Sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday in a joint operation with the Kupwara police. According to the authorities, the terrorist was attempting to enter Indian territory.
“Army and Kupwara police in a joint operation foiled an infilitration bid by neutralising a terrorist on LoC in Amrohi area of Tangdhar Sector. Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition recovered. Search operation in progress. Further details shall follow,” the Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
