India’s positivity rate has dropped to 9.26% from 11.6% on Wednesday as the country reported 1.61 lakh new Covid cases in last 24 hours, which are 3% down than yesterday. The weekly positivity rate stands at 14.15%.
Today’s 1,61,386 cases have taken the total coronavirus tally to 4,16,30,885.
The recoveries in last 24 hours stood at 2,81,109, while presently the recovery rate is at 94.91%.
Country’s active case tally now stands at 16,21,603.
The total deaths have reached 4,97,975 mark after 1,733 deaths reported in last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, on the vaccination front, India so far has administered 167.21 crore vaccine doses. More than 75% of country’s adult population is now fully vaccinated against the infectious disease.
While for children aged between 15 and above 4,71,44,423 first doses have been administered and 10,81,838 second doses.
Since the start of the pandemic, India had crossed the one crore mark of Covid cases on December 19, 2020. It crossed two crore mark on May 4 and three crore on June 23, 2021.
On Tuesday, Delhi reported 2,683 new Covid cases at the positivity rate of 5.09% taking the city’s tally to 18,32,951, while the total deaths at 25,892.
Maharashtra on the other hand reported 14,372 Covid cases in last 24 hours, which were lower from yesterday’s 15,410 cases.
