India records it’s highest single day spike in Covid-19 cases in 2023 on Thursday. With new 3,095 cases the active caseload now stands at 15,208 as per the data issued by the health department.
Amid the rise in the cases of H3N2 influenza, India has been continuously recording rise in Covid cases too. On Wednesday, there were 2,151 new Covid cases.
However, currently the recovery rate stands at 98.78% in comparison to 0.03% of active cases.
Total recoveries were taken to 4,41,69,711 with 1,390 new recoveries in last 24 hours.
There were also two deaths reported each in Gujarat and Goa.
Meanwhile, the Delhi health department on Thursday showed fresh 295 cases reported in the capital city at the positivity rate of 12.48% and on Wednesday the figure stood at 300 cases along with two deaths.
Amid the spurge in Covid cases in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has called for a meeting on Friday to review the situation. Senior officials along with the Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj will also be present during the meeting.
