India Records 84,332 COVID-19 Cases, Lowest In 70 Days

Continuing with its declining trend, India on Saturday has reported 84,332 new COVID-19 cases – lowest in 70 days taking the total case tally to 2.93 crore.

However, the number of daily deaths from the virus are continuously high with 4,002 in last 24 hours. This figures have been highly attributed to states like Maharashtra, which alone has contributed to 2,213 deaths.

The country’s positivity rate has also been on declining phase as it stands at 4.39% for the fifth straight day that it is below 5%.

The proportion contributed by the three South-Indian states in the daily COVID-19 cases are 38,241 with Tamil Nadu reporting 15,759 fresh cases, Kerala reporting 14,233 and Karnataka 8,249 Covid cases.

Meanwhile Maharashtra, which is the worst hit state due to pandemic has reported reported 11,766 fresh cases, taking the state tally to 58.87 lakh mark.
