The leaders of Opposition from INDIA bloc are expected to hold a meeting in Delhi Today to discuss on various issues like joint campaign blueprint, seat-sharing. Planning out of the strategy to win over BJP in 2024 general elections is on top of the agenda today.
The Opposition bloc is expected to discuss the plan meticulously following repetitive defeats in recently concluded assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
The meeting comes at a time when total 92 MPs have been suspended from the Parliament from different Opposition parties, highest of all time in a single session. The MPs were suspended from the Winter Session of Parliament over protesting and raising slogans against the Parliament security breach on December 13.
On Monday, total 78 — 45 from Rajya Sabha and 33 Lok Sabha Opposition leaders were suspended and it was the highest single day suspensions. Meanwhile, the other Opposition leaders are planning to boycott the remaining Winter Session of Parliament and a final call for the same is expected to be taken soon, said the sources.
This will be the fourth meeting of the Opposition bloc. The other three were held in Patna, Bangaluru and Mumbai respectively. The last one was held between 31 August and September 1.
