The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a strict ‘cold day’ warning on Friday to the residents of various states to prepare themselves for the expected plunge in temperatures under 10 degree celsius.
The IMD’s most recent release has also warned for a very thick fog during nights and mornings across the northwest region for the upcoming two days. The department has even anticipated a light rainfall in the central India and northwest region between 8 and 10 January.
Meanwhile, in the areas states like Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Haryana and north Madhya Pradesh remained in the conditions of cold to extreme cold.
Taking to its ‘X’ handle the IMD said, “Cold to severe cold conditions prevailed at many places over Haryana, a few places over Rajasthan, and some pockets over Punjab. Cold day conditions prevailed at a few places over Delhi and isolated pockets over north M.P”.
