Fighter, a big-budget film starring Hrithik Roshan, really took off on day two after earning a respectable (though not spectacular) Rs 24 crore on day one. On its second day of release, which also happened to be Republic Day holiday, Fighter is reported to have surged by over 70% in revenue due to positive talk surrounding the film’s airborne action scenes. Trade expert Taran Adarsh reports that this brings the movie’s domestic two-day total to Rs 65 crore. There might be a domestic opening weekend of Rs 120 crore.
Fighter, a patriotic action movie directed by Siddharth Anand, chronicles the life of a few Air Force fighter pilots at a time of war. With Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi in supporting roles are Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. In the normal 2D edition, Fighter recorded an occupancy of 41%, whereas in the 3D version, it was 42%. The most people watched both of the film’s evening performances. Occupancy rates were reported as being about 50% in Mumbai and the Delhi NCR region and over 80% in Chennai, albeit with relatively few shows. Fighter, in spite of recent trends, is not being marketed as a pan-Indian movie.
Although the movie’s first-day receipts fell short of the lofty expectations that Hrithik has set for himself recently—his two previous films starring Siddharth Anand had greater debuts—they did, however, portend a return to form for the actor, whose most recent release, Vikram Vedha, was perceived to have underperformed. At the end of its domestic run, Vikram Vedha brought in almost Rs 80 crore; on day three alone, Fighter is expected to surpass this amount.
War, which generated Rs 53 crore in 2019 and eventually made almost Rs 470 crore globally, is still Hrithik’s highest-grossing film. After making its debut at Rs 27 crore, Bang Bang went on to earn over Rs 350 crore worldwide. Anil Kapoor, Deepika, and Siddharth are all coming off big hits. Siddharth and Deepika collaborated in the Shah Rukh Khan film Pathaan, but Anil was most recently seen in the contentious hit movie Animal. Fighter is anticipated to perform all weekend long.
