On Wednesday, increased security was implemented around Mumbai after the city’s police department received a call alerting them to the possible placement of bombs in a number of different locations. Someone who cannot be identified made the threat via phone call to the 112 helplines. The call has prompted an investigation by the police.
According to the information provided by the caller, three bombs have been placed at the Sahara Hotel Airport, Infinity Mall Andheri, and PVR Mall Juhu in Mumbai.
At these three locations, the police have increased the level of security. They are making an effort to determine who the caller is.
In April of this year, a school in Karnataka got a bomb threat in the midst of the controversy around the hijab. A similar call was received. The Chief Minister of the state, Basavaraj Bommai, was quoted as saying that it was an attempt to disrupt the calm in the state.
