Half of NEET-UG Retest Candidates Miss Exam Today, Testing Panel Reports

At six locations across four states and a Union Territory, the National Testing Agency (NTA) retested the NEET-UG exam for 1,563 applicants on Sunday. 813 out of 1,563 candidates showed up for a retest today, while 750 candidates did not take the exam, according to the testing panel.

The test was held following the NTA’s withdrawal of the grace marks granted to students who were reimbursed for lost time as a result of the exam’s delayed start at six locations in Meghalaya, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Chandigarh.

Neither of the two students who were supposed to take the NEET-UG retest in Chandigarh showed up at the testing location.

There were two locations for the exam in Chhattisgarh, and 602 students could retake it. 291 aspirants turned up for the exam today.

For 494 candidates, arrangements were made at two exam locations in Haryana. 287 of these students showed up for the test. 234 of the 464 eligible candidates who were in Meghalaya sat the test today.

One candidate in Gujarat had a retest.

After the Supreme Court’s ruling, the NTA withdrew the compensatory marks given to these candidates.

The NTA-established committee made the decision to invalidate the scorecards of these 1,563 students and provided them with the opportunity to retake the exam as compensation. The date of the reexamination was set for June 23.

Before June 30, the results for the same will be made public.
