Four people allegedly attacked a 38 year woman and her daughter in Northwest Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh area, said the Police.
Out of those four people, two were women.
This incident took place on November 19 and was caught on CCTV camera. In the CCTV footage the woman was parking her vehicle and her daughter stepping out of it. Two women turn up at the spot and start physically attacking the woman’s daughter. At the point when the mother tries to step in, two men began punching, kicking and beating her with sticks in the parking in her residential area.
The woman and her daughter were hospitalized after the incident and soon after the woman recovered she filed a complaint against the four.
The police registered her complaint under Indian Penal Code Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354 B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 356 (assault or criminal force in attempt to commit theft of property carried by a person), 379 (theft) , 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (acts done by a several persons in furtherance of common intention).
The police additionally detained the two women identified in the CCTV footage.
“Based on the CCTV footage, two women Megha (22) and Neha (20) were arrested and efforts are being made to nab remaining two accused and proceedings for non-bailable warrants against the accused have already been initiated,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Usha Rangnani.
In her statement, the wonan additionally claimed that she was attacked by two women and four men, who she guaranteed were allies of AAP MLA Bandana Kumari.
Although, the MLA has denied the claims. “All these allegations are baseless… She (victim) lives in my neighbourhood and this has been her nature, she keeps accusing me every time. I have no connection with her or this case,” Bandana Kumari told media.
