Although Sunny Deol acknowledged that sequels to movies are sometimes made poorly, he said that he is confident in the second installment of his well-liked movie Gadar Ek Prem Katha. The movie, now in production, is scheduled to be released the following year.
Gadar Ek Prem Katha, which was directed by Anil Sharma, also starred Amrish Puri and Ameesha Patel in significant roles. One of Bollywood’s highest-grossing movies ever at the time was the 2001 release. The sequel was released more than 20 years after the first film. The future movie’s director has already started filming in Lucknow.
In an interview, Sunny stated, “We make mistakes while working on part two. We must write a part two if the writing is strong, but we shouldn’t create it merely for the sake of creating one. I have a lot of faith in the movie. Everyone I meet wants to see something, and Gadar Ek Prem Katha provides that. In October, we start filming again, and we finish in December. Early 2023 will see its release.”
The actor also requested that Gadar Ek Prem Katha be re-released in theaters by the makers. He told the entertainment portal, “I think they should release that again on the big screen so that today’s youth may watch the film and determine for themselves what it (the ecstasy) was.
In a recent interview, filmmaker Anil Sharma discussed Gadar 2 and said, “Tara Singh (Sunny), Sakina (Amisha), and Jeete are members of the same cast, and we have worked with them all before (Utkarsh Sharma). The narrative has also advanced 22 years. It’s a natural process for everyone because my son (Utkarsh) has developed from a child to a young person. It will be a new movie for new viewers and a sequel for longtime viewers.
Currently, Sunny is promoting R Balki’s Chup, which stars Dulquer Salmaan. Pooja Bhatt, Shreya Dhanwanthary, and others are featured in Chup. It is promoted as a tribute to legendary director Guru Dutt and his 1959 masterpiece Kaagaz Ke Phool.
He also has Apne 2 and Soorya in the pipeline in addition to Chup. The Hindi version of the Malayalam crime drama Joseph is probably called Soorya.
