Raising doubts on the management of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has asked for a serious re-evaluation of EVMs in all the poll bound states.
This comes after she saw a video shot by a Guwahati journalist Atanu Bhuyan in which EVMs were being transported in private vehicles that were alleged of BJP owned.
The locals claimed that the vehicle which was transporting the EVMs belongs to BJP leader Krishnendu Paul, who is a party candidate from Patharkandi constituency.
“The fact is that too many such incidents are being reported and nothing is being done about them,” said the Congress leader reacting to the video.
Urging the Election Commission for acting on such matters the Congress general secretary said that there are some thing common in such incidents.
“The vehicles usually belong to BJP candidates or their associates, videos are taken as one-off incidents and dismissed as aberrations, BJP uses its media machinery to accuse those who exposed the videos as sore losers,” naming some similarities said Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
She will be campaigning in Assam today, where she will also be addressing three public gatherings.
