Election Commission Announce Lok Sabha Poll In Seven Phases, Here Is Full Schedule

The Lok Sabha elections will take place in seven stages starting on April 19 and the results will be declared on June 4, according to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar’s announcement on Saturday.

49.72 crore male voters and 47.1 crore female votes make up the 97.8 crore eligible voters. For 10.5 lakh polling places, up to 1.5 crore poll workers have been assigned. There’ll be more than 55 lakh EVMs used.

Voting in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections took place in seven stages. 91.2 crore people were entitled to vote in total, 43.8 crore of whom were female and 47.3 crore of whom were male.

Seven phases will comprise the elections: April 19 for the first phase, April 26 for the second, May 7 for the third, May 13 for the fourth, May 20 for the fifth, May 25 for the sixth, and June 1 for the seventh.

Polling in single phase: Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Ladakh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Sikkim, Puducherry, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
Polling in 2 phases: Karnataka, Manipur, Rajasthan, Tripura
Polling in 3 phases: Assam, Chhattisgarh
Polling in 4 phases: Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha
Polling in 5 phases: Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir
Polling in 7 phases: Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal

The deadline for nominating candidates is March 27, and the first round of elections is scheduled for April 19. There will be elections in 21 States and Union Territories.

Approximately ten states and union territories will be fully covered in the initial phase.

After that, on April 26, the second round of voting will begin, with the nomination deadline falling on April 4. Thirteen states and union territories are included in this phase.

The third round will begin with elections on May 7 and a nomination deadline of April 20. Twelve states and union territories will also be included in this round.

Ten States and Union Territories will be included in the elections, with the fourth phase taking place on May 13 and the nomination deadline falling on April 25.

The fifth phase, which covers eight states and union territories, is scheduled for May 20. Nominations must be submitted by May 3.

The seventh round of elections, which will cover seven states and union territories, will begin on May 25 and the nomination deadline is set for May 6.

Ultimately, eight States and Union Territories will participate in the seventh round of elections, which is slated to begin on June 1 and have a nomination deadline of May 14.

102 constituencies will go to polls in the first phase, and 89 constituencies will do so in the second. Polling will take place in the 94, 96, 49, 57, and 57 constituencies in the ensuing phases, in that order.
