On Sunday evening, Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, was chosen to lead the Shiv Sena Legislature Party. At a meeting at a suburban hotel, all 57 MLA-designates unanimously passed the resolution to this effect.
Three other resolutions were also voted, praising Eknath Shinde for leading the party to a stunning win, expressing gratitude to the Maharashtra people for their faith in the Mahayuti alliance, and thanking PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their support.
With 233 out of 288 seats won in the state assembly elections, the Mahayuti of Shiv Sena, BJP, and NCP pulled off an astounding victory, leaving opposition MVA with 46 seats.
