Delhi Police Interrogates 12 People In Connection With Allegations Against WFI Chief At His Residence

Delhi Police on Tuesday arrived at residence of Wrestling Federation of India Chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan to record statements of 12 people in relation with the allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him.

During the interrogation, the police collected the information related to all the 12 people who gave statements that included their names, identity cards and addresses.

The police even interrogated many supporters of the WFI Chief. All this was done to collect evidence.

Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has collected total statements of 137 people so far in relation with the ongoing case against Mr Bhushan.
It is however not clear, whether Brij Bhushan was himself questioned by the police or not.

The Delhi Police on 28 April had filed two complaints against the WFI Chief at the Connaught Place police station. One of the filed case was on the complaint of father of a minor wrestler who demanded action against the WFI Chief Under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

While, the FIR filed following the order from Supreme Court  charged him under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) that included section (354) assaulting a woman to outrage her modesty, section (354A) sexual harassment and section (354D) stalking, which lead to imprisonment of two-three years.

Some of the allegations against him even stated that Mr Bhushan asked for “sexual favours” over promises to help in careers.

However, thee WFI Chief and the BJP MP Brij Bhushan has firmly denied all the allegations against him and even claimed that he is ready to be hanged if even a single allegation levelled against him is proven.
