Delhi All Ready For Smooth G20 Summit, Schools Shut, Traffic Curbs And Heavy Deployment Of Forces

Delhi all ready for smooth G20 Summit on September 9 and 10. Traffic curbs, fighters jets and schools shut, everything have been ordered on halt to welcome world leaders.

Stringent traffic regulations have been put into place starting 5 am today and will be in effect till 11.59 pm on Sunday (10 September). However, those working in essential services and ambulances will be allowed to move freely in the national capital.

As per the guidelines, locals and tourists will be allowed to move only in the areas where they are currently staying. People have also been requested to not visit places like Kartavya Path, India Gate for picnicking, walking or cycling.

Borders with neighbouring state have also been shut and institutions like schools, banks and all government offices will be closed for easy traffic flow.

More than 100,000 security forces have been deployed I the national capital and technologies like AI based cameras, jamming devices and also sniffer dogs and fighter jets are being used to patrol the streets.

According to the officials, the Delhi Police will look after all the developments from its state-of-the-art control room with assistance of 5,000 CCTV cameras.

World leaders from the Group of 20 (G20) big economies will attend the two-day summit during which global issues like climate change and poverty will be part of agenda for discussions.

US President Joe Biden will be arriving New Delhi today and he is expected to hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the Summit that will commence tomorrow.
