Deepak ‘Boxer’ Most Wanted Fugitives In India Finally Brought To Delhi

One of India’s most sought fugitives, Deepak “Boxer,” was captured by Mexican police and brought to New Delhi on Wednesday, according to officials.

At around 6 AM this morning, a two-person squad from the Special Cell of the Delhi Police arrived with Deepak at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi from Mexico via Istanbul. He will be questioned about his criminal activities and suspected role in the killing of a builder in the Civil Lines neighbourhood of north Delhi, according to police.

According to Delhi Police, Deepak Boxer will first undergo a physical exam before being presented in court today. The police will request his detention and work to identify the gang members Deepak Boxer interacted with.

Prior to being apprehended, the gangster—a national boxing champion—planned to operate his organised crime organisation in Delhi and the nearby states from Mexico, where he was attempting to enter the US illegally.

The gangster travelled to the US via Mexico using a variety of routes and stops, according to Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) HGS Dhaliwal (“donkey” technique). But thanks to the US Embassy in New Delhi’s office of the Legal Attache, he fell into their trap.

For the first time, an international mission by the Delhi Police resulted in the capture of a gangster. The Gogi gang, which was reportedly affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was headed by Deepak, and the police had offered a reward of Rs 3 lakh for information that resulted in his capture.

“We learned in January that Deepak obtained a fake passport in Bareilly under the guise of Ravi Antil in order to leave the nation. From Kolkata, he boarded a plane for Dubai. He travelled to Kazakhstan’s Almaty from Dubai before arriving in Turkey. He then made his way to Spain. He eventually arrived in Mexico after travelling several different routes,” Dhaliwal said.

At a Tuesday news conference, he claimed, “Our teams were continuously tracking his routes. He claimed that after questioning several of the gangster’s associates and using technical information, Delhi Police pinpointed the gangster’s position in Cancun, a city infamous for hosting human traffickers and the drug mafia.

“His goal in travelling to Mexico was to use human smugglers to travel to America, where he would join his other companions. From there, he had intended to operate his organised crime organisation in Delhi and surrounding states, according to Dhaliwal.

The crime division and special cell worked together to bring about his arrest, according to the police. According to them, the gangster is sought in India in connection with 10 high-profile cases from the past five years, including murder and extortion. After the murder of the Gogi gang’s leader Jitendra Mann alias Gogi inside the Rohini court complex by two men in September 2021, Deepak, a native of Gannaur in Haryana’s Sonipat district, assumed leadership of the group.
