Continuous rainfall in Delhi has brought the normal temperature on May day to 13 degrees celsius which was even lower than the season’s average 26.1 degrees celsius. This was the second coolest May day in last 13 years.
The India Meteorological Department on Monday predicted rainfall to continue for two to three days more in the capital city alongwith thunderstorms.
Three-day orange alert has been issued for the entire North India, said IMD’s Senior Scientist Dr Naresh Kumar. Officials from the department said that this weather conditions have been caused due to western disturbances.
However, for Tuesday it is predicted there will be cloudy sky along with light rainfall and thunderstorms. The minimum and maximum temperatures will settle around 19 degrees and 27 degrees celsius respectively.
The MeT department has even predicted hailstorm activity in Delhi and side by areas in next couple of days.improved
On the one side the rainfall has affected daily commuting of people in Delhi as they had to wade through the deep water to reach their destinations, but on the other side the air quality has also substantially improved.
