Ten women were educated by Richa Chadha’s incubator project, Undercurrent Lab, last year to work as gaffers in the Hindi film industry. It was designed to train women in several filmmaking fields where there was little to no female presence. In a follow-up to her 2022 project, the actor-producer will now provide money to three aspiring women business owners, allowing them to enrol in any course of their choice that will upskill them and aid in the expansion of their enterprises.
“There are many facets to a business, and it’s important to educate entrepreneurs about it,” says Chadha. I want to support female business owners that are working hard to speak up for their goals. Three of them will be chosen to enrol in courses on branding, marketing, financial planning, or whatever else they require to advance their company. The actress continues, “It’s easy to write a note on women’s empowerment, but the real work starts when you do something about it.” The actor has already received over 120 applications.
