The sixth and final list of candidates for the Karnataka Assembly election was made public by the Congress on Thursday. Five candidates were named on the list that was made public early on Thursday.
The final list indicates that the party has fielded Inayath Ali and Mohammed Shalem, both from Mangalore City North, were fielded. BV In Sidlaghatta, Rajeev Gowda has been handed a ticket, while S Anand Kumar will run from CV Raman Nagar (SC). The party has chosen HP Sridhar Gowda as its representative from Arkalgud.
The Sarvodaya Karnataka Party, a local organisation, holds one seat in the Congress’ final list of 223 candidates.
Yasir Ahmed Khan Pathan took the position of Mohammed Yousuf Savanur as the party’s candidate for the Shiggaon seat in Karnataka, which is presently being represented by Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai.
Bommai successfully ran for the Shiggaon seat in the 2018 Assembly elections against Sayed Azeempeer Khadri of the Congress.
By fielding BC Muddugangadhar from the Mulbagal (SC) seat, DK Mohan from KR Pura, and AC Srinivasa from the Pulakeshinagar — SC seat, the Congress unveiled its fifth list of three fresh faces on Wednesday.
The candidates for the upcoming elections in the southern state have all been announced by the ruling BJP. The 224-member Karnataka Assembly will be chosen in elections on May 10, and results will be tallied on May 13.
