PM Modi on Friday took an aerial review of cyclone Yaas-damaged parts of East Midnapore district in Bengal and Balasore and Bhadrak areas in Odisha and announced Rs1,000-crore as an instant relief package — Rs 500 crore for Odisha and the leftover sum for Bengal and Jharkhand.
While Rs 500 crore would be quickly given to Odisha, the Rs 500 crore declared for West Bengal and Jharkhand will be delivered based on harm report submitted by the two states, said a release from PIB.
The PM likewise declared Rs 2 lakh ex gratia for the closest relative of the deads.
