CBI Wraps Up Lie Detector Test on Ex-RG Kar Principal in Kolkata Rape Investigation

As part of their probe into the rape-murder of a woman doctor at the facility, the Central Bureau of probe (CBI) finished a second round of polygraph tests on former RG Kar Medical College and Hospital (RGKMCH) principal Sandip Ghosh on Monday.

A team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) would administer the test, according to the CBI sources that first reported this information.

In relation to the event, Sanjay Roy, the apprehended culprit, had already taken a polygraph test administered by CBI personnel.

In the meantime, on August 25, the Central Bureau of Investigation’s anti-corruption unit searched a number of places in Kolkata, West Bengal, that were linked to Sandip Ghosh and his family.

In accordance with orders from the Calcutta High Court, the CBI filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Dr. Sandip Ghosh on August 24.

The inquiry was started after the CBI was directed to look into the claims of corruption at the medical college by a single bench of the High Court.

The CBI will present a progress report on the inquiry on September 17 after the Calcutta High Court gives them three weeks to do so.

While hearing the suo motu case regarding the event earlier in the month, the Supreme Court directed that the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) be given control of security at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

The trainee doctor was found dead in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9.
