CBI Summons Delhi CM Kejriwal To Question In Alleged Liquor Policy

CBI has now summoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in the Delhi’s alleged liquor policy in which Manish Sisodia has been arrested.

It is first instance in the recent times that Chief Minister is summoned by the central agency for questioning. Mr Kejriwal has been asked to reach office of CBI on Sunday.

The agency has discovered fresh evidence to question the Chief Minister and Sunday has been chosen for his questioning so that it doesn’t interfere in his work, said sources from the agency.

However, the AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is yet to give his reaction to the development. Earlier, he had said that “there is no such thing as a liquor scam”.

The ruling Delhi government has denied the allegations calling it a “vendetta” and trick of BJP as all investigating agencies work under the central government.

“Not a single leader of the AAP will be intimidated by these motivated charges. Many of our ministers, leaders and members have been targeted in the past. Our fight against the most corrupt government of PM Modi will go on,” said senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh.

The CBI is investigating over the allegations against the Delhi’s liquor policy that ended government’s rule over the sale of alcohol in the capital city. It is also alleged that the policy gave advantages to private traders.
