CBI Names Lalu Prasad Yadav And Daughter Misa Bharti In Job For Land Scam

The Centra Bureau Of Investigation on Friday conducted raids at 17 places in connection with land for job scam related to Rashtriya Janata Dal Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and daughter Misa Bharti.

The investigation agency is raiding multiple places including Delhi, Patna, Gopalganj and premises of Mr Yadav, wife Rabri and their daughter Misa.

Hema Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Yadav, Misa and some undeserving candidates who were provided jobs in return for land at  throwaway prices are charged in the FIR by the CBI.

The scam took place during the tenure of Lalu Prasad Yadav as rhe railway minister. He provided jobs in return of land and as a result companies related to Yadav family had taken over key properties in several places in Bihar. This came out when a few candidates opend about it and gave their testimony to the CBI.

“While Lalu Prasad was railway minister, land was taken in exchange for jobs to certain people,” sources from CBI told media.

Earlier, the CBI had initiated a preliminary enquiry which was later turned into FIR.

A few weeks ago the RJD chief was released in fodder scam. He has been involved in four cases related to fodder scam already and now this is fifth case against him.

The fodder scam of worth ₹ 950 crore included funds withdrawal from the government treasuries at multiple places in Bihar. Mr Yadav was sentenced with 14 years of imprisonment and was penalised to pay a fine of ₹ 60 lakh.

However, he has been granted bail in the four cases in connection with Chaibasa treasuries, Deoghar and Dhumka.
