On Friday, July 22, the eagerly anticipated film Shamshera was released. Unfortunately, it hasn’t had the best start. Additionally, the word of mouth has not been great, which will make it difficult for the movie to do well financially. Therefore, everyone is waiting for the release of Ek Villain Returns next week. Despite the fact that Shamshera was also subject to high expectations, there are a lot of things to look for with Mohit Suri’s directorial debut. However, given that the movie seems to feature a fantastic balance of sex and violence, the youthful population might show up in droves.
Given the sizzling sequences in Ek Villain Returns and the general expectation that it would receive an adults-only rating, The film was given a U/A classification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), nevertheless. However, the creators were forced to make two changes, one involving the dialogue and the other involving the graphics.
The CBFC’s inspecting committee requested that some phrases, including “Mental,” “Kuttiya,” “B*tch,” “Kamina,” and “Harami,” be changed to more appropriate ones or removed altogether. Second, the creators were instructed to remove or modify as necessary any images of people being killed with a saw blade, images of blood and flesh, and prominent images of dismembered body parts. Even the intimate scenes involving Disha Patani that were extensively displayed in the teaser have been either trimmed or toned down. On the plus side, the Censor Board only removed 9 seconds’ worth of visuals.
The CBFC provided the censor certificate yesterday, on July 22, following these modifications. According to the censor certificate, the movie lasts 128.54 minutes. Ek Villain Returns runs for 2 hours, 8 minutes, and 54 seconds. It’s interesting to note that the first installment, Ek Villain (2014), which was also helmed by Mohit Suri, ran for roughly 129 minutes.
Ek Villain Returns also stars John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Tara Sutaria, and Disha Patani. The movie opens in theaters on July 29.
