BJP MLAs Gifts 5 Autorickshaws To Arvind Kejriwal After His Fight With Gujarat Police

Five autorickshaws were “gifted” to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by Delhi BJP MLAs on Thursday, days after the AAP leader clashed with Gujarat Police officers over their attempt to prevent him from riding a three-wheeler.

Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, the leader of the opposition in the Delhi Assembly, made the remarks outside the residence of the chief minister on Flagstaff Road. “Mr. Kejriwal had a convoy of 27 vehicles, but he played a drama in Gujarat by insisting on travelling in an autorickshaw,” Bidhuri added.

On September 12, Mr. Kejriwal had supper at an auto driver’s home in Ahmedabad during a two-day trip to Gujarat earlier this week. The car driver took him up from his five-star hotel.

When police officers assigned to his security detail attempted to prevent Mr. Kejriwal from riding in the car due to security concerns, a violent dispute ensued. Later, two police vehicles escorted the autorickshaw as a police officer sat next to the driver.

Mr. Bidhuri attacked Mr. Kejriwal by saying, “In Gujarat, despite having a convoy of 27 vehicles and 200 security guards on duty, he insisted on riding in an autorickshaw, creating a drama. To fulfill his ambition of riding a three-wheeler in Delhi, we are giving him these cars.”

According to the BJP politician, one autorickshaw would act as a pilot, one with the tricolor will be used by the chief minister, two more will be used by those who will accompany him, and one will be used by his personal secretary.

Mr. Kejriwal argued with Gujarat Police officers, telling them he didn’t want their protection and that he should be permitted to take an autorickshaw to supper.
