There seems a big win for BJP in Gujarat as vote counting began early morning today in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state and Himachal Pradesh.
However, in Himachal there BJP and Congress are having a neck and neck competition.
In Gujarat, BJP is currently leading at 146 seats, while Congress has just make out to 26 seats so far. In last election Congress had outperformed in the state.
Meanwhile, AAP which was expecting a big entry in Gujarat is just leading on 8 seats. Gujarat assembly has total 182 seats, out of which 92 is the majority mark.
While, the earlier trends in Himachal Pradesh showed up win for BJP but slowly Congress crossed its vote share above all. The hill state total 68 seats and the majority stands at 35 seats.
After the elections were announced in Gujarat, BJP had launched wide campaigning with all its star power in the state – Prime Minister Modi himself held more than 30 rallies.
Despite, a continuous shuffle between BJP and Congress in Himachal, the BJP has stressing upon PM Modi’s achievements to get straight into the second term.
To focus all its energy on Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, AAP had dropped itself out from the hill state. Mr Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held several rallies alongside PM Modi in Gujarat. Countering BJP’s slogan “Phir ek baar Modi Sarkaar” the AAP raised its slogan as “Parivartan”.
Meanwhile, the Congress whose supreme leaders like Rahul Gandhi were busy in Bharat Jodo Yatra throughout the election campaigning was seen as putting up a token campaign in Gujarat. In Himachal Pradesh the past trend gives advantage to the party.
