BJP Begins Drive To Restore Ties With AIADMK, Multiple Meetings Scheduled In Week

Central leadership of BJP has decided to restore its ties with the former ally AIADMK who had exited the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) earlier this week, said sources from the government.

The leadership has started to take stock of the situation and to find out the reasons why there was a fall out. One of the Union Ministers will prepare a report on the concerns of the former ally and the ground situation to submit.

Alleging the BJP in Tamil Nadu of not respecting its past and present leaders, the AIADMK had broken it’s ties NDA earlier in the week.

In past the members from AIADMK have expressed their “discomfort” to BJP with its state unit president K Annamalai over his remarks on the leaders from Dravidian party.

As the central leadership has begun the process of restoring ties with the former ally a senior leader from BJP said, “the central leadership is very keen on saving the alliance and that is why all the state leaders have been told not to comment on the alliance. Meetings… will take place over the course of the week and a decision announced”.
