“Bigger Change” To Happen, Says BJP Vice-President Dilip Ghosh After NCP Chief Sharad Pawar Resigns

Tuesday, BJP national vice-president Dilip Ghosh predicted a “bigger change” in Maharashtra politics as NCP president Sharad Pawar revealed his intention to stand aside as the party’s leader.

Speaking to the news organisation, Ghosh said, “There has been some unrest in Maharashtra politics for a number of days. Some discussions have been going on…This is the outcome of it. NCP’s continued existence is under danger, he continued, as Sharad Pawar is eroding in influence.

He claimed, however, that he would not stop participating in politics. “Even though I’m leaving my position as president, I’m still going to be active in society. I’ll keep going to meetings and public events, Pawar declared.

Pawar’s nephew Ajit Pawar stated that the NCP president would now take “two to three days to reconsider his decision” after the statement caused emotional NCP workers to organise protests and threaten suicide across the states.
