Speaker of the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta dismissed a number of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs for the day on Tuesday, February 25, for shouting during L-G VK Saxena’s speech in the House.
Twelve MLAs were suspended for the day, including former minister Gopal Rai and opposition leader Atishi.
Fourteen Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports will be presented to the House by the BJP government. Preventing and mitigating vehicular air pollution in Delhi, regulating and supplying alcohol in Delhi from 2017–18 to 2021–22, when the city was the scene of a liquor scam, the Sheesh Mahal–CM house issue, the audit of public health infrastructure and health services, and the operations of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) are all major issues covered by the CAG audit reports.
On February 24, the eighth legislative assembly of Delhi convened for a three-day session. Vijender Gupta, a BJP MLA, was chosen yesterday to serve as Speaker of the House. In the 70-member Assembly, the BJP has 48 Members of Parliament. The AAP has twenty-two MLAs.
