Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected to skip the fourth summons by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with alleged Delhi excise policy on January 18. This update came as the AAP supremo is scheduled to leave for Goa for a three-day visit.
An official from the Chief Minister’s office said, “Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to leave for Goa on Thursday as per a pre-announced schedule”. During the three-day visit to state the Chief Minister is expected to see the party’s preparedness for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections this year, he said.
Meanwhile, the BJP has accused Mr. Kejriwal of “evasive behavior”
“CM Kejriwal is behaving like a fugitive but the law will soon reach him. The day ED takes cognisance of his evasive behaviour and takes stern action against the CM, then Aam Aadmi Party will start playing victim card,” said Praveen Shankar Kapoor, Delhi BJP spokesman.
The Delhi Chief Minister has already skipped three summons issued from the ED on November 2, December 22 and on January 3. Skipping the summons the AAP Chief called them “illegal and politically motivated”.
This fourth summons by the investigating agency came on January 13, a day after the announcement of Kajriwal’s three-day visit to Goa.
