Arvind Kejriwal Criticises BJP Over Its Remark On GST

Arvind Kejriwal on Monday severely criticized the latest Goods and Services Tax initiative by the federal government, saying: “This is what the British used to do.” Bhagwant Mann stood by his side.

“People are very tired of inflation. Everything is becoming more costly. The center recently slapped GST on curd. GST is applied to food goods like lassi and chaach. Wheat and rice both contain GST. The British used to act in this manner. Taxes are being imposed despite inflation.

He continued by listing the accomplishments of Delhi’s AAP administration. “We are working to lessen the load on the average person. The public schools have improved recently. So much so that parents are not required to enroll their children in private schools. About 12–15,000 can be saved if a family has two–three children, according to Kejriwal, who also noted that healthcare is affordable in the city and that residents receive free energy and water.

“Only because we have eradicated corruption were we able to do this. I want to ask the center to reconsider the GST decision. This may be controlled if we stop wasting money and engaging in corruption, he said.

The timing of Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks is significant because the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party have been at odds on a number of topics, including Delhi’s new alcohol policy. The AAP claimed on Sunday that the Delhi Police “forcibly” displayed pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a gathering that Kejriwal was required to attend.

An earlier bone of concern was the chief minister of Delhi’s unapproved trip to Singapore.
